A good chunk of my upcoming trip to Daytona Beach will involve Chad McCumbee, the West Brunswick (N.C.) High School graduate and former Late Model driver at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Chad has agreed to answer a few questions from readers and bloggers. I'll post his answers in a daily video on www.myrtlebeachonline.com.

Going to Daytona???

Welcome back everyone. The cars have started testing at Daytona International Speedway in preparation of the 50th running of the Daytona 500.

In a few weeks, I will be making my first trip to cover the ''Great American Race.''

And when I'm there, I want to catch up with local people  ... those living in Horry County, Georgetown County and southern Brunswick County. Not just fans who will be at the race, but fans who will be staying at the track in the days leading up to the events.
