Green-white-wreckers

Denny Hamlin's crew chief called NASCAR's green-white-checkered finish rule ''asinine'' following Sunday's race at Texas. In short, Mike Ford said guys race for 500 miles, then crash each other for the last two laps trying to gain one or two spots.

I don't mind the rule. Nothing worse than a race ending under a yellow flag.

I do wish NASCAR would consider double-file restarts in the final 10 laps. That would make things interesting ... and to Ford's dismay, likely cause more wrecks.

What's up with all the “Green White Checkered" crap? Seems like since its inception that’s all you see now. My friend and I were standing in my garage drinking our favorite Barley Pops watching the race and with 18 to go I told him "you watch..it will be a green white checkered finish.” Dern if I wasn't right! NASCAR is turning into Big Time Wrestling it seems. They want to get the most drama they can out of each race. Heck I never saw any fluid on the track. Truex was down on the apron right away. PATOOOIE I say on the Green White Checkered finish. I'm not into a finish under yellow either but they seem to throw that yellow a lot quicker towards the end of the race now-a-days not to mention the ever illusive “Debris” on the track call (that they never show the TV audience) which always seems to come up close to the end of a race when the leader has checked out on everyone else.

I agree with Dandy Don, Although I truly believe it depends on where the "Hendrick's
Cup" cars are running which determines when
the yellow is thrown.

Yeah waterhound your right because the Hendrick team was so close to winning last week. One car was on the lead lap. HMS has not even won a race yet this season. Sorry but your theory does not hold water.

Waterhound I do not know where you are located but you should take a trip to the HMS garages and see how well run it is up there and you would see why HMS is near the top every week. On my trips through Charlotte I have toured many of the different shops and HMS along with RCR are two that are all business all the time. As anyone can tell you when a business focuses on being the best at what they do usually they succeed.

The yellows are thrown because NA$CAR has no idea what a solid set of rules are. A car spins throw the yellow 20 laps later a car spins but there is no yellow. The most frustrating thing about being a NA$CAR fan is the rules change every week.

Green, white, checkers need to go but right now it is the best thing for the sport. The rate most races have gone since the green, white, checkers was started we would have a lot of finished under yellow.
