City councilman stands in for Giuliani at GOP rally
A Myrtle Beach city councilman will join the fray of stand-ins representing Republican presidential candidates at tonight's GOP rally, he said.
Randal Wallace will stump for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the councilman said. Wallace was among the organizers of several Giuliani events in the area, before the mayor recently pulled his South Carolina staff to concentrate on other states.
The rally is at 7 p.m. at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort's Tara Theater in Pawleys Island. All tickets have been sold.
James Woolsey, former Director of Central Intelligence and head of the Central Intelligence Agency, will represent U.S. Senator John McCain. Chris Panos, a member Rep. Ron Paul's local campaign, will represent the Texas congressman.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson will all also be sending surrogate speakers, party officials said, but their identities have not been released.
Mr Wallace---Since you are "standing in" for Rudy please make sure you do the following:
Mention 9/11 every 3.5 minutes
DO NOT mention Bernie Kerik
DO NOT mention Rudy's kids not supporting him
DO NOT mentions Rudy's support for gun control, gay equality, or abortion on demand.
And don't forget to wear a Yankees cap!!!

I would only have to say that as a Republican we are all in this together and lets be united in the cause of making sure the Democrats dont win the White House. That being said, I am a strong supporter of Sen. Fred Thompson. Go Fred!

Well having gone to the GOP Rally lastnight and hearing many of the speakers trying to rally there troops for the Republican Candidate of there choice I must say Myrtle Beach Councilman Randal Wallace really did a fine job laying out the foundation of why he is pulling for Rudy Giuliani and why he felt others should vote for him aswell. Good Job Mr. Councilman. With that Being said, George Allen really did an awesome job gathering the troops for Fred Thompson and preparing them for a big Victory Win in South Carolina on election day. I became more inspired and reasured that Fred Thompson is the man for the job at this time in history and is the right perscription to cure many of the problems our great nation faces at this time. Go get em Fred!

Folks, I live in upstate New York. One day does not make a leader. Mayor Rudy was no tax cutter from our point of view. He took our tax monies and used them for his pet pork projects in the city, money we could have used for schools, roads etc. His only goal in the pursuit of the presidency is to shift federal funds from everywhere else to New York City.
Think before you waste your vote. He cannot win.

The Sun News reporter at last nights rally neglected to mention in her story today (Thursday)edition, that Senator John McCain representative was the former CIA Director Jim Woolsey. The Director was quite thorough, concise, and informative on Sen McCain's positions on a variety of important issues effecting the Nation such as: the economy, immigration, taxes the troop increase in Iraq and the selection of Justices for the Supreme Court. To omit Director Woolsey points on behalf Sen McCain is unfortunate. Especially when he traveled from Washington DC to be at the Rally in Georgetown, and when all the other Republican Presidential candidate's surrogates (except Mike Hucklebee whose representative did not appear) were mentioned in the story. Whomever at the newspaper either of the desk editor, copy editor, or reporter herself to strike Woolsey remarks did a disservice to the Director and the Senator. Fairness, balance and objectivity should be the hallmark and doctrine of a good newspaper and it was did displayed here..
