13 playoff games postponed

All thirteen high school baseball and softball games involving area teams were postponed Monday due to heavy rains, although one of them did reach the fourth inning before it was suspended. All of those games have been rescheduled for today.

Today's games are the losers bracket championships, meaning any team that loses is eliminated from the playoffs. Winners advance to Wednesday's district championships. Only Conway's baseball team and St. James softball teams have already secured spots in the district finals.

The only game that got started on Monday was Carvers Bay at Lamar softball. Lamar led 5-2 when the game was suspended in the fourth inning. Play resumes at 6 p.m. today.
