Area team reaches milestone

Carvers Bay has achieved just about every milestone possible since opening in 2000, but the Bears marked another off the list on Thursday.

Under the guidance of coach Will Tanner, the Bears won a baseball playoff for the first time in their eight seasons of existence, beating Hannah-Pamplico at home. They will play at Bamberg-Ehrhardt in the second round on Saturday.

Tanner was an assistant before this season, but took the reins and has led the Bears to unprecendented success. Here is a picture of the Bears (click for a larger version):
