Got a question for MB coach Scott Earley?

We will have plenty of coverage in the paper and online this week of Myrtle Beach's first trip Earley_2to the state football championship game since 1984. One component will be a Q&A with Seahawks coach Scott Earley, who is widely loved by Myrtle Beach fans and widely despised by fans from other schools. Here is your chance to pose your questions to Earley. I'll pick a group of questions from the submissions for the interview. Post your questions as a comment to this post.

I have written SCHSL with concern of the use of the P/A during Marlboro's possesions. Also the use of the cannon at kickoffs. The P/A use I think unsportsmanlike.

Was this something Early had control over? Has he any prescience of this tactic (tactics) being used?

As far as the Seahawks; best of luck to the kids in the title game hope you win. Any animosity towards some of the things the program has done I'm sure is not towards the players...you guys are winners.

So EHS41...what about Marlboro County's band playing during MBHS's possessions? Get over it. Who the heck are you to e-mail the SCHSL? What are your qualifications but some person who blogs about local high school football??? Get a LIFE!

Is there a SCHSL rule about noise from a band or Sound System during play? If there is it should be enforced, so that play is not influenced. If there is no rule then there should be because the loud band or music should only be allowed during time outs, quarters, half time etc. Fans and cheerleaders should be the only thing heard during plays. What does Coach Early have to say about this?

Thats right flashy, I have the right. I pay taxes. Great country!
It was wrong, defense of bad sportsmanship is self defeating. Its not what I would be teaching nor would I allow it to be taught to my children.

So EHS41, was it bad of Marlboro's band to play as well or are you just criticizing MBHS's sound person (by criticizing Coach Earley)? You might pay taxes...but really, you have no right to fuss unless you actually went out and voted. EHS??? SC??? Upstate maybe???

Goodness, Moreland, just drop it. You're making a fool of yourself. Conway lost. MB won. Let it go, man.

I asked if coach Early had control, comprehend, if he does he should stop (my opinion) the use of the P/A. And no I won't "let it go".

I give all the credit to the Seahawks in the world, great bunch of athletes, but if your program keeps going down the path your on I fear for you. Trust me when I tell you mine is not the only request being made to the SCHSL too look into something with the Seahawks program. That given, am I trying to hurt or help? By bringing this up, publicly, if it is a problem and something that needs to be stopped then before it could cause a bigger issue it can be addressed.

I don't hide myself away and call others "fool" (john-do) and I never made a personal attack. I asked Josh to ask, if Early was in charge of these issues. And if so is it being done anywhere else.

Call no man fool, lest ye be one.

read over what I've said here a little better. Take it to english class with you or something, there is no Early bashing in there, as a matter of fact I just about make myself sick givin the Hawks props.

read it all again sloooowly.

I laugh at you guys getting upset over the PA system or the band playing. I was raised in Pennsylvania where it is nothing to ask parents to hold kids back a grade to "red shirt" them.(Yes, at the high school level.) Where good coaches have mortgage payments made by high school booster clubs. Where the alumni provide young "ladies" to entice good players to transfer from neighboring school districts.
I don't know or care about Coach Earley. But, until he graduates to some of the tactics listed above, I wouldn't get too concerned about the PA system.

Would you ask why Conway didnt get to use the visiting locker rooms as Marlboro County did friday night. Was this Early's doing or did Chuck just not want to? I was surprised seeing MC players in the locker rooms after knowing Conway dressed in the back corner of the stadium earier in the season.

teddy; could those issues be where the little ones lead up? Thanks for the help.

That's funny. We have a Conway fan on here talking about "rules." Want to know why Conway isn't making their regular appearances in the state championship as they were in the early 2000's? Their talent isn't as good. Why is that? Chuck Jordan's recruiting well has dried up. Taking a look back at some of Jordan's most successful teams, 2/3 of the backfield weren't from Conway. Bobby Wallace was from Aynor and Allen Patrick was from downtown Loris. Looking at Conway this year, Jason Livingston is from the Racepath community in Myrtle Beach. His brother played for Myrtle Beach a few years ago. As Jordan became more successful, his assistant coaches, (Nate Thompson, Jody Jenerette, and Maurice Murphy) all got jobs in the area, and Jordan couldn't recruit players from the surrounding areas like he once could. That is a fact.

Also if you want to get in P/A do's and don'ts, how about the guy from Conway purposely mispronouncing MB players names last year? He didn't just do it once or twice, but the whole game. "Spencer Barton" is a specific one I remember from last year.

Want to get into proverbs? Ok fine. How about this one: "He who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones."- Chaucer

i would like to agree with the question ask bout conway using the locker room, and i also think it was wrong how early pointed at marbolo before the game MB is a good team ill give them that but don have nobody but golsen in 09 and he has no recivers it will be a ruff year for the hawks next year

No more receivers? Have you seen the MB JV team? They are loaded with receivers. there are four or five more recievers that will be just as good as this group. The only senior receiver this year is Valentine. Skelton only plays occasionaly at receeiver, so I didn't list him.

On the locker rooms. If you have ever been in them, you would know that they are small and hot. I believe Coach Jordan would have chose to be outside.

bobby wallace isnt from aynor,he is from brown swamp and was included in the aynor district after his junior year.the schsl was petitioned to allow him graduate from conway.and as far as nate thompson he still lives in conway, jody jenerette hasnt done anything at aynor to be able to take kids from conway. who wants to play for a loris program that is in shambles.chuck jordan has more wins than any coach in horry county history and look at the kids from conway that have played in college..

EHS41...if you're going to talk about Coach Scott EARLEY, why don't you learn to spell his name correctly before taking anything to English class?! And conway09...if MBHS won't have any receivers in '09, who won the JV games the last 2 years? I saw some REALLY good receivers. Guess you're blind to that too! Also, if you didn't notice, Jamere Valentine is the only starting receiver graduating. Check the roster. As for contacting the SCHSL...I'm sure there are things that could be "thought" of (since you must not have anything else to do...job, etc) to report about Conway. Why don't you just be humble?! MBHS was pulling for Conway in the playoffs and hate that those kids lost (& wish them the best in the future), but people like you make it harder and harder to truly think or feel that way.

Sorry for the misspell, I vote have a job and Go Seahawks.

Didn't report I asked SCHSL if there were rules on this, as I find it unsportsmanlike. You are the ones taking great offense to this or the fact I asked Josh to ask the coach a couple of questions on the subject.

I WANT you to go get that state ring and will be happy for you. Why do you take a defensive stance so quickly? Concern is a word you use when you care. My son has a good relationship with alot of the Seahawks, dates a young lady from MB I even helped (many years ago) build the place.

Maybe this is just a generation thing but I really didn't mean any harm. Do I love the coach?, no but he is a great competitor and has done great things for the program. I don't see him through rose colored glasses. He and I and all of you are not perfect. Nor above a question and thats what I did. I didn't call names or belittle anyone and won't.

Good luck at Clemson, Chester sould not be that tough for you guys, I think you've played your toughest two in C-wood and Marlboro.

conway does not like MB and MB don like conway every one knows it there was even Conway players cheering on marbolo county durining last weeks game

Anyone notice how Coach Earley likes to go for Two during the first and second quarters? It seems like it alway puts us in a bind sometime during the game. I say lets get our points and worry about going for Two later in the game when the circumstances call for it. What does Coach Earley have to say about this ? Thanks. Great win M.B. !!!!

This is the biggest stage you guys have played on...what are you going to do to control the emotions and keep them grounded until kickoff?

I think this has gotten a little out of hand. A simple question will do. This bashing of Coach Earley has got to go. Many of you see Coach Earley on the field only, you do not see the real Coach and the things he does for these students at MBHS. Not a day goes by that he is not there for any of them. Male or female. They have a problem and he is there to help. Underneath the roughness you see on the field is not what is displyed to his students. Coach Earley had big shoes to fill with the death of Coach Doug Shaw. He along with the other coaches are doing their best to get the program to where it needs to be. Having the opportunity to know Coach Shaw I know he is giving Coach Earley and all the other Coaches a pat on the back for what they are accomplishing. Instead of coach bashing why not give these wonderful athletes PROPS for a job well done with good luck wishes for a important Saturday night game. WELL DONE MYRTLE BEACH SEAHWAKS. Now grow up people and remember the students are whats important here.

Who is bashing anybody other than those of you who seem to think you shouldn't have a question about anything. And your the ones calling others names.

Josh asked for questions get it? I mean really now tell me how any of these posts are bashing the coach.

i bet it would kill you if your internet all of a sudden stopped working ehs41...ur pathetic... real question: What do you think was the biggest reason why the program has turned around? Who do you think is responsible for sacrificing in the beginning so that the team would be successful today? What do you think is important to continue to keep the program in the positive direction?

Finally...some good questions! Thank you gamehen
