Myrtle Beach-Marlboro County updates
Sorry guys. The final, as you know by now, was 51-50 in double OT. I had to go down to the field at the end of the game for interviews. I didn't expect the game to then go into multiple overtimes. I was crunched for my deadline and didn't have time to update my blog. Thanks for tuning in, though.
Myrtle Beach leads 30-29 after a field goal with 4:59 left.
Marlboro County leads 29-27 after a field goal with 8:03 remaining in the game.
Myrtle Beach leads 27-26 after Demazio Skelton's 13-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter.
Marlboro County leads 26-20 after a 28-yard touchdown pass with 1:29 left in the third.
Myrtle Beach leads 20-18 at the half.
Myrtle Beach leads 20-18 after Marlboro County scored on a 43-yard touchdown pass on a blown coverage late in the first half.
Myrtle Beach leads 20-12 after Cobb's 22-yard touchdown catch with 2:45 left in the half.
Myrtle Beach has taken a 13-12 lead on Everett Golson's 28-yard touchdown pass from Steven Cobb with 7:14 left in the first half.
With 10:03 left in the second, Marlboro County has taken a 12-7 lead on Elliot Alford's second scoring run.
It's 7-6 Myrtle Beach after the first quarter.
Midway through the first it's 7-6 Myrtle Beach. Both teams scored on short touchdown runs.
It's almost 7:30 p.m. at Doug Shaw Stadium. There is a good crowd in the stadium. Should be a good one. I'll update when possible. At least every quarter.
I just finished listening to the Myrtle Beach football game on the radio it was by far the worst 2 announcers I have ever heard..One guy cant speak english the other guy is all over the place...you have no idea what is going on...TERRIBLE!!!

I saw Josh at the goal post on the news when the miss kick happened. I'm assuming he was going to do an interview...this game went back and forth A LOT. And A LOT more towards the end. In the second overtime, the Bulldogs coach decided to go for two and the win instead of kicking the extra point. Myrtle Beach intercepted the pass in the end zone and here we are... :)

I should expand slightly...the score was 51 to 50 Myrtle Beach obviously....Myrtle went first in the 2nd overtime and scored 51. When the Bulldogs had the ball next, they to scored bringing them to 50 and instead of the extra point they went for two.

Two great teams, a game for the ages, Seahawks win, but give M.C. credit for playing their hearts out, left nothing. Golson running the option, along with Ford and Valentine running was what won for M.B. showing the Hawks are not a one dimensional team. Sure Golson is maybe the best paser in S.C. but if an atheletic team like M.C. shuts off the receivers, no problem, Golson and Valentine can do it all. I don't see how the Dawgs lost to Lakewood because they were unstopable. TT and the QB the best M.B. has seen all year. Such a great game. Seahawks in Death Valley after winning the BB championship is too much and if they win the same guys will have a chance for a threefor BB,FB,BB! Valentine, Golson, Cob, Spivey, Gore and others are truely champions in every way.

Just a note to all of you at The Sun News, Myrtle Beach playing for the state title deserves to be on the front page of the paper! Do you really think another story about the rivalry of Clemson-USC or another negative economic story is more important than the game we got to see lastnight. Pressed for time or not you managed to get a story done, congrats. It should have been on the front page. Yet another mistake by The Sun News! Congrats Seahawks! I appreciate what you did lastnight even if those at the local paper are to blind to see it!
