Week 13 predictions

I went 5-0 last week, bringing my record to 106-22 this season. We have four area teams left in the postseason. Click below for my picks for this week's games.

S.C. Class AAAA, Division II quarterfinals: No. 7 Laurens at No. 2 Conway
Breakdown: Conway is looking for its second state semifinal berth in the last three years. Although the Raiders are seeded seventh, they are dangerous. Still, it's hard to imagine they are better than Sumter, a team Conway has already beaten this year. Seth Moreland was injured last week for Conway but will play tonight. It doesn't sound like the injury will inhibit him at all. The Tigers haven't played well over the past few weeks and they'll certainly need a much better effort than they had in the first-round win over Ridge View. Laurens likes to throw the ball around and has athletes on the perimeter. The Raiders have played a tough schedule and their only losses were to Dorman and Greenwood. I expect a stiff test, but I think Conway grinds out another close win and sets up a semifinal matchup with South Pointe.
Conway 24, Laurens 17

S.C. Class AAA Lower State semifinals: No. 1 Myrtle Beach at No. 1 Crestwood
Breakdown: This is the game that everybody has asked me about all week. It has taken me nearly a week to finalize a prediction. Myrtle Beach is seeking the big postseason win it hasn't gotten in the last decade. Crestwood feels it should have been in the state title game last year and is hunting for redemption. These are two high-powered offenses and two tough defenses. I can't really figure out if defense or offense will win out. North Myrtle Beach founds holes in Crestwood's secondary, so Myrtle Beach should be able to score some points if it can avoid sacks. Hartsville, which runs a Wing-T like Crestwood, and other run-based teams have put up huge numbers against Myrtle Beach's defense. The Seahawks have spent weeks preparing for Crestwood, but I'm not sure it will matter. I think in the end, both teams will score. The factor that's hard to judge is Myrtle Beach's psyche after the loss of Gregg Skipper. I think these kids are focused enough and they'll use it to their benefit.
Myrtle Beach 35, Crestwood 34

N.C. Class 2-A, second round: No. 8 Lexington at No. 1 South Columbus
Breakdown: This is a dangerous matchup for South Columbus. Lexington tailback Chris Bush is one of the state's leading rushers and can score on any touch. The Yellow Jackets also have the ability to throw, meaning South Columbus' defense could be in for a long night. I think this matchup could be more dangerous than the one the Stallions would face in the Western semifinals. I think ultimately Rashawn Grate and Co. will make enough plays and the defense will hold firm to keep alive the Stallions' dream of a second straight title game apperance.
South Columbus 35, Lexington 24

S.C. Class A, Division I Lower State championship: No. 4 Lamar at No. 3 Carvers Bay
Breakdown: This is for a berth in next week's title game in Orangeburg. These teams are meeting at this point of the postseason for the third straight year. Lamar has been on the losing end in each of the previous two, meaning the Silver Foxes are gunning for revenge. Carvers Bay didn't play well in last week's win over Hemingway, but the Bears proved to themselves and everybody else that they are capable of winning close games. Lamar is dangerous and coach J.R. Boyd is a regular in the title game - he wasn't the head coach the past two years. Revenge is a big factor in this one, but the Bears are playing at Big Bear Stadium, where they almost never lose.
Carvers Bay 20, Lamar 14

There you go with your useless ,unknowing posts again,First off I don't drink, and second ,YOUR A FOUNTAIN OF MISINFORMATION AND OTHERWISE A WASTE OF GOOD OXYGEN.Have a good day though imbecile.

lake city won the region....get over it, the seahawks are way past winning the region...maybe try not fighting next year then you will not have anything to complain about
