Myrtle Beach receiver Jamere Valentine has collected a bevy of honors and awards since the end of the football season. None of them, however, compare to the honor he received this week.
Valentine was named a medium-sized school All-American by MaxPreps.com. He was voted to the second team. The medium-school category includes players from schools with enrollments between 700 and 1,700 students.
Valentine, a 6-foot-2, 200 pounder, led the state in three receiving categories. He caught 98 passes last fall - only five off the single-season state record - for 1,515 yards and 19 scores. He also rushed for 13 scores as a short-yardage back. He accounted for 2,247 all-purpose yards.
Also a key member of Myrtle Beach's basketball team, Valentine holds a number of Football Championship Subdivision and Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offers, but he has yet to make a commitment.
Valentine was one of only three area players to be named to an Associated Press all-state team. He was a first team all-state pick by The State, and was chosen as the Toast of the Coast Offensive Player of the Year by The Sun News.

you have hurt my feelings...i meant no ill will toward skip...was always impressed with the way he worked with the kids and the way they respected him...i had just not heard anything in regards to that matter...thE Valentine kid does deserve a chance to play somewhere and i stand by my statements in regards to him...but the profane taunts and physical threats that are posted on here by those connected to the seahawk program are the reason for Earleys lack of respect outside of mb and the reason this blog does not take off...i love everyone and only wish all of you a happy new year
