Myrtle Beach boys basketball coach resigns

Myrtle Beach High School has lost another prominent coach.

DeAndre Scott resigned as the boys basketball coach on Thursday, Myrtle Beach athletic director Doug Terry said.

Scott is expected to be named the new head coach at Wilson High School, where Scott graduated from in 1994.

``That is supposed to be verified tonight at their board meeting,'' Terry said.

When asked Monday about the possibility of leaving Myrtle Beach for Wilson, Scott declined comment.

Scott was not immediately available for comment Thursday.

Myrtle Beach football coach Scott Earley announced he was resigning one week ago on April 23. The school quickly replaced Earley with assistant coach Mickey Wilson.
