No events postponed at Carolina Forest

Carolina Forest athletic director Bubba Lewis said all of the Panthers' sporting activities planned for Friday and Saturday will take place as scheduled.

``We are playing soccer and we are going to Sumter to play baseball and softball [Friday],'' Lewis said. ``I didn't have anything cancelled.''

The devastating fire in the area forced the cancellation of classes at Carolina Forest High School on Friday, and the threat of the fire moving toward the high school and the community around it led to the discussion of postponing all school events.

The Panthers weekend schedule:

Friday

Baseball: Carolina Forest at Sumter, 6:30

Softball: Carolina Forest at Sumter, 6:30

Girls soccer: Hartsville at Carolina Forest, 5:30

Boys soccer: Hartsville at Carolina Forest, 7

Saturday

Boys golf: Seahawk Invitational at Wild Wing, 7:15 a.m. (participating teams are: Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Aynor, Conway, St. James, Socastee, Wando, South Aiken, West Florence, Fort Dorchester and Carolina Forest)
