Carolina Forest is looking for a new athletic director.
James ''Bubba'' Lewis, who had served as the school's athletic director for the past four years, said Wednesday he had resigned from the position to have more time to spend with his family. Lewis, 43, and his wife have two middle-school aged sons and a daughter who will be entering first grade.
``It is a tough professional decision for me,'' Lewis said, ``but personally I need to be with my family.''
Lewis said he will teach at Myrtle Beach Middle School, and at some point in the future he may venture back into athletics. Lewis served as an assistant football and basketball coach for nine years at Myrtle Beach High School then spent time working in district office before joinging the staff at Carolina Forest.
``It was a labor of love. I wish them luck,'' Lewis said. ``I think things are going in the right direction.''
As of early Thursday morning, the job had not been posted on the SCHSL's Web site.
There is more to this.... He waiting on something to pop up...... It's always something underlying with these moves..
