Horry County prep standouts drafted

North Myrtle Beach baseball standout Tripp Faulk was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 38th round and Conway's Colby Holmes was taken in the 47th round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Thursday.

Faulk was taken with the 1,138th overall pick. His father is Paul Faulk, who is a scout for the Braves.

Faulk, an outfielder, has signed to play baseball at Wingate and must now decide whether to bypass college and turn pro or attend school for at least three years.

Holmes went 1,408th overall to the Atlanta Braves. The right-handed pitcher will likely attend South Carolina instead of turning pro.
