A closer look: Conway Tigers football

Head coach: Chuck Jordan, Conway

On the inexperience the Tigers will have at quarterback (the competition is now between senior D.J. Samuel and freshman Mychal Moody, neither of which has much varsity level experience entering the fall):

>>``The inexperience doesn't concern me. We are going to be the best we can be and whatever that means that is what we are going to do.''

On the Tigers' other areas of concern:
>>``Something that is going to determine how decent we are going to be is going to be on the offensive line. We lost a lot from last year. We had three offensive linemen sign college scholarships from last year. The degree for which your offensive line progresses is going to be the degree at which we progress.''

A LITTLE EXTRA:
>>Jordan said the Tigers will be a very inexperienced squad entering the season. Conway returns just three starters on offense (one lineman and two receivers) and only three on defense as well (safety, linebacker and defensive end).
``We will be lucky to beat ourselves,'' Jordan said.
Despite Jordan's reservations, it's hard to imagine the Tigers not faring pretty well during any season. Although, it could be a down year for the Tigers by their lofty standards. But then again, Jordan and his staff always do a great job of getting the Tigers ready to play.

RECRUITING NEWS:
>>``We just are very, very young, and we have some kids this year that are going to have to play very well to create some interest,'' Jordan said. ``But right now, probably nobody is drawing much college interest.''
