Myrtle Beach players visit USC

Here is a local recruiting note that was recently published by Josh Low at TheBigSpur.com.

''Brown, Rexroad visit

A pair of Class of 2011 prospects from Myrtle Beach High, defensive tackle Ervin Brown and offensive lineman Jason Rexroad, visited [Gamecocks] practice last week.

Brown is under-the-radar, but is a standout for the Seahawks and could get multiple Division I looks during the next recruiting cycle.

"It was pretty good,” he said. “They do a lot of stuff similar to what we do. I got to speak with (running game coordinator) Eric Wolford and (defensive line coach) Brad Lawing. They are two good coaches and know what they are doing. The weight room was really nice. The whole school was nice. I plan on coming to some of their games this year."

Clemson, LSU and North Carolina State are other schools he is interested in early.

Jason Rexroad, who recently transferred in from North Myrtle Beach, also enjoyed his trip.

“The coaches showed us everything and the weight room was really nice,” he said. “The practice went good. It was really up-tempo and there was a bunch of hitting. The players were really fired up and playing with a bunch of intensity. I'm definitely going to come back. I will take another unofficial visit for a game this year."

Florida International has offered and he is claiming interest from USC, Clemson, Alabama, UNC, Tennessee, NC State, Oklahoma, UGA, and Georgia Tech. FSU, Tennessee, UNC, Clemson, and USC are his top five schools in no order. He claimed no favorite.
