Well, last week went pretty well. I recovered from the 4-6 week to go 10-0 last week straight up. Probably the biggest surprise was Johnsonville over Georgetown and Marion's easy victory over North Myrtle Beach.
Georgetown is struggling on offense right now. The Bulldogs' defense has played pretty well, but sophomore Devante Geathers hasn't been the workhorse he was expected to be at this point and quarterback Patrick Ward hasn't been very effective through the air. It's hard to win games when you average 7.7 points per game like the Bulldogs are doing through three games.
North Myrtle Beach is still trying to figure out what works best for them, and at the same time coach Denver Cromer may be looking to the future a little bit. By replacing senior Trace Mooney with sophomore Clint Cole, the Chiefs didn't gain much in the passing game but they are getting the younger guy experience. North Myrtle Beach still has a solid defense and a spot in the playoffs isn't out of the question.
