Fourth of July Shootout football tourney set for Thursday

Myrtle Beach High School will host its annual Fourth of July Shootout 7-on-7 football tournament today at Doug Shaw Stadium. The 10-team event begins at 6 p.m. and will end around 10:30 or 11 p.m.

Participating teams include Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, Conway, Aynor, St. James, Loris, Manning, Spartanburg, Ashley (N.C.) and Hoggard (N.C.).

We will have some photos and a story from the event in the paper and online. Stringer Ryan Elswick will also provide a blog post on this blog to catch up with the local teams that are participating.
