Myrtle Beach-Byrnes Tix Pre-Sale

Myrtle Beach High School will begin pre-selling tickets for Friday's game against Byrnes on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

Tickets, which are $6 for general admission, will continue to sell until 4 p.m. They will also be available on Thursday and Friday at the same time. They can be purchased at the Myrtle Beach Athletics office at the school.

Kick-off for the game is set for 8 p.m. Friday

A Slightly Different Approach

Aynor's Jody Jenerette is done taking chances.

In a departure from the norm, the Blue Jackets' coach isn't going to wait for later in the season to quell the potential for injuries during practices. It's August 30, and Jenerette has already eliminated full contact drills.

Beach Ball Classic, Holiday Invitational teams are set

Not sure how long this has been out there, but I saw the 2010 teams for the Beach Ball Classic (boys) and the Holiday Invitational (girls) were up on the event's website. I did not get any type of release, but I don't think it has been up very long. The schedules were not posted and likely won't be available until much closer to the event. Both events will be played at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Another week of high school football; another week of picks.

For me, that means a chance to improve my record from my humbling Week 0 picks.

Friday night pick 'em: Week 1

Several rivalry games are on tap this week. Georgetown at Carvers Bay and Loris at North Myrtle Beach standout, but St. James-Waccamaw has become a good annual matchup the last few seasons and everyone wants to knock off Myrtle Beach, including former region rival Carolina Forest.

Protecting The Football

If nothing else, Aynor could take their coach's message to heart this week in practice.

Last week, the Blue Jackets beat Lake View 21-15. And while Tony Green put up 160 yards on the grounds and the team rushed for about 250, coach Jody Jenerette's team won for a very simple reason.

Four Teams Getting More Exposure; Kicking Worries Over

For those of you stuck at home or behind a computer on Friday nights, there's a back-up option for you to watch your team play.

That is, at least, if you're trying to follow four of our local teams. HTC announced Monday that games featuring Conway, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Loris will be available live online at www.htcnetracer.net.
