In a departure from the norm, the Blue Jackets' coach isn't going to wait for later in the season to quell the potential for injuries during practices. It's August 30, and Jenerette has already eliminated full contact drills.

Not sure how long this has been out there, but I saw the 2010 teams for the Beach Ball Classic (boys) and the Holiday Invitational (girls) were up on the event's website. I did not get any type of release, but I don't think it has been up very long. The schedules were not posted and likely won't be available until much closer to the event. Both events will be played at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Several rivalry games are on tap this week. Georgetown at Carvers Bay and Loris at North Myrtle Beach standout, but St. James-Waccamaw has become a good annual matchup the last few seasons and everyone wants to knock off Myrtle Beach, including former region rival Carolina Forest.

Last week, the Blue Jackets beat Lake View 21-15. And while Tony Green put up 160 yards on the grounds and the team rushed for about 250, coach Jody Jenerette's team won for a very simple reason.
