If nothing else, Aynor could take their coach's message to heart this week in practice.
Last week, the Blue Jackets beat Lake View 21-15. And while Tony Green put up 160 yards on the grounds and the team rushed for about 250, coach Jody Jenerette's team won for a very simple reason.
Aynor did not have a single turnover; Lake View had five.
"Practice was a whole lot better this week," Jenerette said this afternoon. "It's easy to say 'they fumbled five times -- we didn't fumble at all.'
"If we don't turn the ball over at Aynor, we're a pretty good football team."
As Jenerette is quick to point out to anyone who'll ask him, the Blue Jackets' success this season will rely almost exclusively on how few mistakes his team can make. The coach said even Creek Bridge, a Class A team without a ton of success last year, could walk away with a three-touchdown victory.
"We've got to play pretty near perfect to win," he said. "There's no pushover (on the schedule for) Aynor."
In another move signifying the changing of the guard at North Myrtle Beach, first-year coach Perry Woolbright is undertaking a weekly coach's show every Tuesday.
The show, which started Tuesday, takes place at 7 p.m. at Pat and Mike's Restaurant in Little River. It is hosted by Tyler Watkins and Wayne White. North Myrtle Beach students who show up for the hour-long event can snag dinner and a drink for $5.
Also included each week is a question and answer session with Woolbright.
