Friday night pick 'em: Week 9

This is a pretty good week for quality matchups.

A few weeks ago, it didn't look like Conway was going to have much of a rebound season. But the continued improvement of Robert Nelson at quarterback combined with an opportunistic defense has the Tigers looking very formidable. The turning point seemed to be the drubbing Conway put on Marlboro County. Now Conway has its most important game of the season when it travels to South Florence tonight. The Tigers lost this game by 50 last year. It won't be that way again, but the Tigers are going to have to play their most complete game of the season to get the win. I'm guessing they come up just short tonight, but that doesn't mean Conway can't go far in the playoffs. I'll even give you a first, I'll pick it as an overtime game.

Socastee is also coming on strong. If the Braves could win tonight as well as St. James, that would set up a very meaningful regular-season finale between the two rivals. I got called out for calling a Braves win Friday an upset, but that's still how I see it. The Braves have the firepower to do it. And believe it or not, I think they will.
