Much like it did with the high school football season, Coastline Sports Media will be broadcasting area high school basketball games on radio and television this winter.
The games can be heard live on The Team 93.9-FM, and most games will be rebroadcast on WWMB-TV 21 at a later date.

The Coastal Basketball Coaches Association, a group of area high school coaches, has released its preseason teams in advance of this week’s start to the season.
The first team includes two North Myrtle Beach players, Dylan Poston and Temarrick Hemingway, as well as Jordan Simbeck (Carolina Forest), Marshall McClary (St. James) and Myrtle Beach’s Everett Golson. Golson -- who has said he will leave school to enroll early after this semester -- was left on the first team in case he changes his mind.

Khadijah Sessions wasn't going to be pressured into a decision, and now the Myrtle Beach junior point guard is going to take her time to choose which major college women's basketball team she'll be signing with next year.
Sessions, one of the top high school players in the state, originally said in May that she wanted to make an announcement before the start of this season. However, after a big-time AAU season with the South Carolina 76ers, her offers increased and gave her more to think about.

Carolina Forest coach Brian Brunson will have three more games for his team than originally planned.
The Panthers boys basketball team will hold a holiday basketball tournament Dec. 20-22 at their home gym. So far, Conway, St. James, Loris, Aynor, Myrtle Beach Christian and Carvers Bay have committed, and Brunson said he is waiting on official word from one more team.

An interesting list came out this afternoon.
Rivals.com has ranked the top five high school quarterbacks from around the nation in three different categories: Strongest Arm, Most Accurate and Best Scrambler. The list, so says the Web site, is an assemblage of video study, in-game analysis and opinions formed from offseason camps from last summer.
What's missing, for local football fans, is much mention of Everett Golson, the Myrtle Beach quarterback softly committed to North Carolina.

Myrtle Beach's game Friday against Cane Bay is the Seahawks' final home game of the 2010 season, regardless of how many more teams they win.
And coach Mickey Wilson is taking advantage.

In case you missed it, this morning's paper included a story on the seven area players who were selected to either the SCADA North-South or the Shrine Bowl All-Star rosters.
And while during the preseason most of us had our guesses as to who would be included, there's still some questions to be answered when it comes to a few decisions. Essentially, here's my viewpoint on a few area players who either were included or left off the post-season all-star rosters.
