Shrine Bowl scheduled to be shown on ESPNU

For those interested, the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, played on Dec. 18 in Spartanburg, is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Friday (Christmas Eve).

I'm sure a lot of people have other plans, but for those that don't, you can check out Myrtle Beach's Everett Golson and Donte Sumpter as well other South Carolina stars Jadeveon Clowney, a defensive end out of South Pointe, and Northwestern quarterback Justin Worley.

It's funny how being on the winning side vs. the losing side affects what your coaches tell you.

Saturday's SCADA North-South All-Star Football game is almost here. And with six practices already completed (and four more to go) players on each side aren't exactly getting the same motivational speeches.

Myrtle Beach state title celebration finalized

The Seahawks' Class AAA state title celebration has been set for 10 a.m. Friday, according to Myrtle Beach Athletics Director Doug Terry.

The event, which will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, is free and open to the public.

Class AAA Title Game Pick

It's just about here, the final regular high school football game of the season.

On Saturday, Myrtle Beach will play in it's third consecutive Class AAA title game. And while the matchup against South Pointe presents some interesting challenges for the Seahawks, I believe Myrtle Beach coach Mickey Wilson has the perfect pieces in places to minimize South Pointe's defensive line.
