Myrtle Beach state title celebration finalized

The Seahawks' Class AAA state title celebration has been set for 10 a.m. Friday, according to Myrtle Beach Athletics Director Doug Terry.

The event, which will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, is free and open to the public.

It will include a tribute to the team on the video board, introductions of the entire team and speeches by most likely head coach Mickey Wilson and Terry.

"Since it's going to be cold, we're going to it as quickly as possible," Terry said Wednesday.

The celebration will take place in part to some cooperation from officials with the SCADA North-South All-Star football game, which is in town this week and using Doug Shaw as its primary practice field.

The South squad, which was originally going to practice at Doug Shaw that morning at that time, will now practice at the Ashley Booth Field behind Doug Shaw.
