Myrtle Beach set to honor Ramon Sessions

Ramon Sessions has carved out a successful NBA career. But the current Charlotte Bobcat guard has continued to be a regular presence for the city of Myrtle Beach and his old high school.

As a result, Myrtle Beach High and the city will honor Sessions Tuesday between the girls and boys basketball games against St. James. The girls game will begin at 6 p.m.

The school is pre-selling tickets for the games and the ceremony starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The pre-sale tickets will available through 2 p.m. Any leftovers will then be sold prior to the game. The school will only sell 1,500 tickets.

The 2004 Seahawk graduate went on to a successful college career at Nevada. After being honored as the 2004-2005 Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, he played two more seasons with the Wolf Pack before leaving with a year of eligibility remaining. The Milwaukee Bucks selected him in the second round of the 2007 draft. He’s also played with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Since graduating from high school, Sessions has routinely returned to Myrtle Beach for basketball camps, giving away Thanksgiving dinners and hosting a golf tournament that benefits Seahawk athletics programs.
