Saturday Morning Quarterback, Week 4

Our Game of the Week may not have come down to the wire like it did a week ago.

But that doesn't mean there was a shortage of fireworks.

Myrtle Beach and Carolina Forest combined for 87 points, roughly 900 yards of total offense and enough big plays to hand out plenty of game balls. The Seahawks (4-0) remained perfect after its third games against a Region VI-AAAA foe.

Meanwhile, Carolina Forest wasn't exactly beating itself up.

First-year coach Marc Morris received a bit of an ovation from players and parents for coming up with a game plan that with a couple of different results on a few plays could have been one heck of a win. Either way, both teams have obviously made strides in the last few weeks.

AROUND THE AREA...

Conway broke into the win column with a 35-29 win over Marlboro County, the eighth time in the last 15 meetings between these two schools decided by a touchdown or less.

Socastee got things back on track with a close win over former region opponent North Myrtle Beach.

Georgetown remained perfect by trouncing a struggling Carvers Bay team.

Waccamaw and St. James picked up wins over Class A opponents.
