S.C. state football poll, Week 4

Myrtle Beach avoided it's first loss since last year when Socastee's last-minute field goal Friday night went wide right.

The Seahawks also avoided a drop in the polls.

Coach Mickey Wilson's team remained atop the Class AAA statewide rankings, released Tuesday. The Seahawks (3-0) will have two more games against teams from the state's top class in the following two weeks when they play at Carolina Forest and at home against Conway. Wins there should help Myrtle Beach hold off a hard-charging Hartsville team (which beat Conway soundly last week).

Loris also stayed put for another week in the Class AA rankings. The Lions, which are 4-0 and have won their last two games by a combined score of 91-0, are still No. 5.
