S.C. state football poll, Week 5

And another Grand Strand team can call itself ranked.

For the first time this season, Georgetown was included in the Class AAA state rankings. The Bulldogs (4-0 in advance of this week's home game against Loris) are now No. 10 in the polls. They join Myrtle Beach (No. 1, AAA) and Loris (No. 3, AA).

The Lions moved up two spots despite having an off week last Friday night. They are behind only traditional Class AA powers Dillon and Timberland, who have accounted for five state titles in the past six seasons.

Another area team also shot up. Socastee (4-1) is now the first team out of the Class AAAA poll, meaning the Braves are receiving more votes than any other unranked team.
