Football stat leaders, through Week 11

Myrtle Beach will enter its second round playoff game (vs. Hanahan, Friday) as the third-highest scoring team in Class AAA and 10th in the state.

Going off that, it stands to reason several Seahawks would be putting up some big individual numbers as well. This week, as other teams around the area continue to end their seasons, Myrtle Beach's high-flying offense is putting up some big yards and even bigger touchdown numbers.

No area quarterback still playing has reached the halfway point of quarterback Drayton Arnold's 2,884 passing yards. Running back Brandon Sinclair is currently sixth in rushing; however, the four players directly ahead of him are all done for the year.

The receiving category is Myrtle Beach heavy. Kyle Belack - who led the area a year ago - has already eclipsed 1,100 yards. Behind him at No. 2 is teammate Malik Waring, who is closing in on 800.

The team's touchdown tally is even more absurd. Arnold's 37 total touchdowns (all passing) are 16 ahead of the next player still going (Loris' Ta'Jay Williams). Sinclair is fourth with 20, and Belack has already put up 17 (one of those being on a special teams return). Waring, who isn't in the top five, is close behind with 12 scores.

Some other notables:

* Socastee fullback Angelo Sauter could become the area's seventh running back to reach the 1,000-yard mark this week at Stratford. Sauter is just 21 yards shy.

* Conway is the only team in the area that has three presumed returning players in three different categories. The Tigers trio of running back Jah'Maine Martin, quarterback Peyton Derrick and receiver Bryan Edwards are all juniors.

* Loris QB Ta'Jay Williams is now just 111 yards from breaking the school's single-season passing record, set a year ago by Bennett Winslow (1,309).
