The push for the playoffs wrapped up Friday night for the area's teams in the smaller three classes, and six of the nine teams are postseason bound.
Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Georgetown will be playing in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs this Friday, with Loris, Waccamaw and Aynor joining them in Class AA.
Let's not forget what the final week of games did to shape those results, though.
AROUND THE AREA...
North Myrtle Beach won its biggest game of the year, upsetting Class AAA No. 1 and rival Myrtle Beach.
Loris rebounded from a lopsided loss to Dillon to take down Aynor and finish second in the region.
South Florence held off Socastee to clinch the Region VI-AAAA title.
Waccamaw, Carolina Forest, Conway and Carvers Bay all lost, with the latter three teams seeing their playoff hopes evaporate.
WEEK 10 GAME BALLS:
Ta'Jay Williams, QB, Loris - The junior threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns while running for another two scores in the win over Aynor.
Daquan Smith, RB, Aynor - One of the Blue Jackets' two big rushing threats went for 114 in a loss against Loris. The figure put him over the 1,000-yard mark on the season, joining teammate Kamron Johnson in that category.
Michael Billings, RB/DB, Georgetown - Normally a standout tailback, Billings' biggest work in a Thursday win over Wilson was holding Christian Bruce, the leading receiver in the Pee Dee, to just two catches for 45 yards.
