Get Kroger coupons on your phone
Coupon clippers can ditch their scissors.
Grand Strand shoppers can get Kroger coupons on their cell phones now because of a newly forged partnership the grocer has with Cellfire Inc.
San Jose, Calif.-based Cellfire Inc. is a nationwide mobile coupon service that lets customers in the Kroger's Atlanta division - which includes its five stores on the Grand Strand - access coupons for dozens of brands on their phones.
People can get the coupons by registering with Cellfire and linking their Cellfire account to their Kroger Plus card. They look at the coupons on their phone through Cellfire, and the coupons they pick are loaded onto their Kroger card. After that, they're set to shop and the discounts apply when they use their Kroger card at checkout.
New coupons are available every two weeks.
The service is free and can be used on most phones, said Lewis Woody with Kroger's Atlanta division. Usage charges from the carrier might apply, but the savings from the coupons usually offset the carrier fees, he said.
People can visit Cellfire.com or send a text message with the keyword KROGER to 22888 for more information.
