In for the long haul
We started a new 10-week session of Weight Watchers at work this week, and I didn't hesitate to write my check. Even though my deadlines sometimes get in the way of making a lot of meetings, I actually look forward to the official weigh-in and time with our leader, whether it's to confess or celebrate!
I have to admit I've been succumbing to stress recently. While I eat a lot of carrots for snacks and stick to well-portioned lunches, my weakness is the dinner hour, which for me has been getting later and later. Most of the time, I eat healthy, but the urge for comfort food is strong.
When I fall off the wagon, I'm very deliberate about it and immediately get back to the good-for-me stuff, but I can tell in the weekly results when I'm making bad moves. I'm hovering around the 10-pound mark - I lost .4 this week - and need to kick it in high gear so I can move past that and see more progress.
So I'm focusing on two things right now: destressing, because stress helps the fat hang on, and more homemade lunches. I eat a lot of the packaged meals, and while the convenience is wonderful, the sodium isn't. I can't say that next week will result in a better reading, as I have a friend visiting for the weekend, and we'll be eating out a lot. But I'll be happy if I can hold the line Tuesday and then hunker down for better results.
