Couples love Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is a hit with couples looking for a value vacation, according to a recent survey.

Resonably priced romantic dining and free or nearly free cultural exhibits helped the Grand Strand take the No. 8 spot for providing the best value for couples, according to D.K. Shifflet and Associates, based on analysis of the Directions Travel Performance/Monitor.

Charleston snagged the top spot, followed by Williamsburg, Va.; and Asheville, N.C.

"While Charleston comes out on top, a common thread among these cities that make the top 10 value list is their significant offering of free or nearly free cultural exhibits, galleries, walking tours, and reasonably priced romantic dining," Cheryl Schutz, DKSA's vice president of account services, said in a news release.
