Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc. has shed two small amusement parks within the Broadway at the Beach retail and entertainment complex to PARC Management, the same company that recently acquired Myrtle Waves Water Park and the NASCAR Speedpark from B&C, according to a company statement.
PARC is taking over the management of Pavilion Nostalgia Park and Carousel Park at Broadway at the Beach. A statement from the company said the acquisition of the parks will allow it to offer a value entertainment for all ages in the Myrtle Beach area.
B&C will continue to own the land and the rides.
The acquisitions are in line with B&C CEO Jim Rosenberg's strategy of refocusing the company, which owns more than 20,000 acres in Horry County, on real estate development instead of on operations and management. Rosenberg, though, announced his resignation last week after less than two years on the job.
Best thing B&C ever did was get rid of this stuff and get it to someone that knows and concentrates on that business. These two were built only to be nice to residents and tourons.

Jim Rosenbergs legacy of selling off the company continues. Doug wendel built these so that families and kids could enjoy and have fun. Profit was not the main goal. A small loss was worth the goodwill. but Rosenberg doesnt care about anything other than money. he cares nothing about this town or the company employees. Thats why they finally showed him the door.
He went after 2 very powerful people and lost his butt. Good riddance

Under Rosenberg they are losing tons of money on boondoggle real estate deals like the one outside Raleigh. Closing the Pavilion was a real brainstorm, the one thing that MB was known for. Now that the company is on the rocks after only two years of his "leadership," after 50+ years of basically owning the beach, he is leaving, probably with a big bonus, and the company on the rocks. Kind of like Bernie Madoff, anyone notice a familiar thread here? Shalom you silly goyim!

Rosenberg did fire one well known guy and got overruled. Then he was going after another big gun in town and got beat. You see who got canned and who stayed. Why he couldn't make friends is a mystery. But he made powerful enemies just by being a jerk.
