Direct Air is ending 10 seasonal flights early from Worcester, Mass., to Myrtle Beach due to low booking numbers, said Judy Tull, the chief executive for the Myrtle Beach-based public air charter carrier.
Flights on Sept. 13, 17 and 24, Oct. 1 and 29, and Nov. 1, 5, 8, 12 and 15 have been canceled, affecting about 150 passengers, she said.
This was the first season the airline offered twice-weekly flights to Worcester, which were scheduled to end in mid-November, Tull said.
''You can definitely see the number of people that we had for fall that we canceled was very very few,'' she said. ''They just had not booked to Myrtle Beach.''
Passengers have the choice of getting a refund, moving to another flight, going to another destination at the same price or holding the ticket for a year and redeeming it when the airlines resumes service in spring of 2010, Tull said.
In July, the airline ended its flights to Allentown, Pa., more than a month earlier than originally scheduled due to low demand.
